Week-long day camp empowering girls and youth to learn an instrument and collaborate with a band. During the week, they will learn how to write an original song and pay tribute to historic women artists by learning from a repertoire of songs, culminating in a public performance.
Girl Power Rock Camp, led by a host of local, powerhouse female performers, provides opportunities for girls and youth, ages 8-16, to learn the basics or level up on their instrument of choice, collaborate on writing an original song with a band, and experience performing in front of an audience. Girl Power Rock is one of this year’s summer camps offered by The NWA Collective, housed at the Teen Action and Support Center's Springdale location. Bands will be based on skill level and instrument preference of drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, and/or vocals. No experience necessary and instruments can be provided or campers are welcome to bring their own.

Campers will learn the basics of keeping time and music theory, songwriting and song structure, and an appreciation for historic women artists up to modern pop-rock icons. Additional breakout sessions, in small groups of interest, and special guests accent the camp with a well rounded aspect to the performing arts as well as the technical and business sides of a performance career.
